Washington DC is such a nice place to visit. My mother grew up there and I worked there one summer in college. I'd love to go back.

Have you been visiting the Capitol recently? Can you believe that I've NEVER been? My brother moved to the VA suburbs this summer and I hope to visit him -- and these monuments -- soon.

Hello Tracy,

Just responding to your question about snowdrops. Their proper name is galanthus, and there is quite a bit of good information about them on Wikipedia. I should think you could probably grow there where you are, unless they don't like hot summers. They grow from bulbs.

Good luck, if you do have a try!
