Catching Up

Thought I would play catch up with a few things I have been meaning to follow up on.

Remember the map monster? I had asked my readers to help me come up with a name and it seems Guiliver won out.

I won this beautiful garland from a wonderful blog: moments in perfect clarity

Julie also made some lovely stitched up cards. Could not give up buying a few--love them all! She sells these cards on Big Cartel which you can find on her blog.

Going On A Walk

Can you believe I have singed myself and daughter up for the Greenville Hospital Systems Swamp Trail 5k Run/Walk? I would have never thought one year ago, I would be able to walk three miles(I think 5k is three miles)? I will also be getting a t-shirt and I do not even know what size to get!

I love to walk(it's my think time) and since I had my weight loss surgery- I cannot get enough of it! I walk on my breaks at work and I will park my car far from the door when I go shopping. I feel like Forrest Gump-I could walk from one end of the country to the other. Maybe I will one day!

Hope everyone will have a great week-end!

Coming Soon

I love living in Greenville and would like to share what my city has to offer more with my readers. Once a week, I will choose a topic to write about--landmarks, restaurants, colleges, great places to shop and other places I think my readers would enjoy reading about.

The weekly title for my post will be called--Around Greenville.

I hope you will enjoy reading about this great city and see why I am proud to call Greenville home.To get started--please log on to: http://www.greenvillesc.gov/

Enjoy!

Duke University Chapel

On the way home from Washington DC Sunday, I asked Mr G if we could stop by Duke. After stopping at a gas station and asking where the university was located--a very nice lady said she would take us to the school and the entrance she took us to was the chapel entrance. Both Jose and I were speechless--the pictures tell it all.

We listened to the last 5 minutes of the service and I had tears in my eyes. I had the chance to speak with the dean of the chapel(Sam Wells) and learned he is from England and has been to Lyme Regis(my dream). The whole time I was there, I felt like I was in a British cathedral--even Dean Wells agreed with me.

If you are in the Durham North Carolina area--the chapel at Duke University is a visit you will never forget.

Almost Wordless Wednesday

Leaving work one day, I heard a very strange loud noise--looked up and saw this beautiful bird.  Every step I took-- I could feel those little eyes upon me until I reached my car. Was there a nest near by? I think so, beacause when I left the parking lot all was quiet.
